Ex-servicemen And Families

FOR EX-SERVICEMEN & THEIR FAMILIES

Second Careers with Purpose. Structured Enterprises with Stability.

SERVICE VALUES TRANSLATED INTO ENTERPRISE

The strengths developed through military service are deeply relevant in today’s structured enterprise environment. Ex-servicemen and their families bring a mindset that prioritises discipline, order, and responsibility—qualities essential for sustainable businesses.

These strengths include:

  • Strong work ethics and reliability
  • Respect for rules, systems, and hierarchy
  • Ability to function effectively within teams
  • Integrity and accountability in daily operations

JJJKAS recognises that these qualities naturally align with organised agri-processing enterprises. Through Project Sampada, these service values are channelled into professionally managed, rule-based enterprises that create income while preserving dignity and purpose beyond active service.

WHY PROJECT SAMPADA SUITS EX-SERVICEMEN

Project Sampada has been intentionally designed around structure, predictability, and long-term planning—an environment where ex-servicemen and their families feel confident and capable.

The project operates on:

  • Clearly defined processes
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Collective accountability
  • Phased and planned growth

There is no encouragement of speculative, high-risk, or informal business activity. Instead, the project promotes stability, consistency, and compliance.

INCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ENTIRE FAMILIES

Project Sampada recognises that sustainable enterprises often thrive when families are involved. Participation is therefore open not only to individuals but to family members as well.

Eligible participants include:

  • Ex-servicemen
  • Spouses of ex-servicemen
  • Adult sons and daughters
  • Widows of ex-servicemen

Enterprises may be managed by individuals or jointly as family-run units. This approach ensures continuity, shared responsibility, and long-term stability.

ENTERPRISE OPTIONS UNDER PROJECT SAMPADA

In its initial phase, Project Sampada focuses on agri-processing activities that are manageable, compliant, and market-oriented.

Supported activities include:

  • Seasonal pickle manufacturing units
  • Semi-processed agricultural products
  • Standardised food processing operations

All enterprises function within FSSAI guidelines and operate under the umbrella of a Producer Organisation.

STRUCTURED SUPPORT FROM JJJKAS AND THE PO

Participants receive systematic and professional support through JJJKAS and the NABARD-supported Producer Organisation. The emphasis is on building systems rather than offering one-time assistance.

Support includes:

  • Technical training and operational orientation
  • Standard recipes and quality benchmarks
  • Guidance on branding and packaging standards
  • Market linkage and buyer access
  • Institutional handholding through the Producer Organisation

JJJKAS’s role is to create a dependable framework within which enterprises can operate confidently.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARTICIPATING FAMILIES

This initiative is responsibility-led, not subsidy-driven. Participants are expected to uphold standards that protect the credibility and sustainability of the collective.

Participants are expected to:

  • Follow defined SOPs and production protocols
  • Maintain strict hygiene and quality standards
  • Participate in collective decision-making
  • Respect governance rules of the Producer Organisation
  • Plan finances carefully and realistically

Those seeking shortcuts or rapid profits may find this model unsuitable.

FINANCIAL SAFETY AND RISK MANAGEMENT

Project Sampada emphasises financial prudence and controlled exposure to risk, especially in the early stages of enterprise development.

Key principles include:

  • Phased and limited financial commitments
  • Collective negotiation for inputs and markets
  • Avoidance of heavy borrowing at the start
  • Gradual scaling based on performance

The primary objective is to create stable supplementary income before pursuing expansion.

PREFERENCE FOR EX-SERVICEMEN FAMILIES

JJJKAS accords preference to ex-servicemen families because their values strengthen the Producer Organisation as a whole.

These families typically:

  • Understand accountability and reporting
  • Respect timelines and commitments
  • Value institutional reputation
  • Take a long-term view of growth

DIGNITY, INDEPENDENCE, AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH

“Ex-servicemen deserve opportunity, not charity.”

Participants are treated as entrepreneurs, not beneficiaries. The objective is to create enterprises that offer dignity, stability, and a renewed sense of purpose.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST AND NEXT STEPS

Ex-servicemen and family members interested in joining Project Sampada may submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the official website once it is launched.

The process includes:

  • Submission of a simple EOI
  • Shortlisting based on suitability
  • Invitation to orientation sessions in Patna
  • Informed decision-making before onboarding

A second innings built on structure, not uncertainty.
A collective journey backed by institutions.
