Experience

Jai Jawan Jai Kisan Agriculture Society (JJJKAS) is a registered NGO, established in 2014, dedicated to transforming rural Bihar through sustainable agriculture, livelihood creation, and agricultural exports. Built on the “Never Say Die” spirit of the Indian Army, the organisation focuses on empowering farmers, strengthening rural economies, and promoting women’s participation in income-generating activities.

Guided by discipline, integrity, and precision, JJJKAS ensures high-quality, chemical-free food processing with a strong commitment to purity and transparency. Inspired by the teachings of HH Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the organisation also promotes “Satvik” production and holistic workforce well-being.

The vision of JJJKAS was shaped by its Founder Secretary, Major Arun Jha (Retd), an alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA). After surviving a life-threatening service-related injury, he chose to dedicate his “second life” to serving Bihar’s farmers and women entrepreneurs, bringing military-grade discipline to the food-processing sector.

Its flagship initiative, Project SAMPADA, is a 15,000 sq. ft. Common Facility Centre at the Bihta Industrial Complex, developed with BIADA, NABARD, and JEEViKA. The project uses advanced retort technology to create export-ready products, connecting rural producers to global markets while training and employing over 600 women from 60 Self-Help Groups.

The “Integrity Sealed” Mandate

The “Force Multiplier” Effect

The Independent Review and Market Validation System

In an unofficial advisory capacity, Rony Banerjee serves as a strategic “Shadow Auditor” for JJJKAS, strengthening the organisation’s planning and execution framework. He critically reviews the Detailed Project Report (DPR) before it is presented to key institutions such as NABARD or the Tata Group, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and strategic alignment. His role also involves validating the market gap analysis for Bihar with robust industrial data and practical insights that meet the expectations of financial institutions and industry stakeholders. This added layer of evaluation enhances credibility, reduces risk, and strengthens the overall quality of project execution and decision-making.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does “Integrity Sealed” mean?

“Integrity Sealed” represents our highest standard of trust and quality. It signifies that every product is handled with military discipline, processed under medical-grade hygiene protocols, and ensures that 100% of the promised value reaches farmers and Self-Help Groups (SHGs). When a product is “Soldier Certified,” it reflects uncompromising reliability and quality assurance.

How does the Founder’s medical background impact the project?

Major Arun Jha (Retd) brings a clinical and precision-driven perspective to food processing. His recovery from a severe service-related Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) has shaped a “Zero-Failure” mindset within JJJKAS. This approach ensures the adoption of hospital-grade aseptic protocols across machinery, processing, and packaging—making safety and hygiene non-negotiable.

Is JJJKAS a “One-Man” organization?

No. JJJKAS operates under a Joint-Service Command structure. While Major Arun Jha leads field operations from Patna, he is supported by a National Advisory Committee currently comprising retired senior officers, including a Colonel. The organization is system-driven, ensuring operational continuity and stability beyond any individual role.

Why is the unit located in the BIADA Complex, Bihta?

Bihta is emerging as the industrial hub of Bihar. The 15,000 sq. ft. facility at the BIADA Industrial Complex offers the infrastructure and scalability required for high-volume production and export operations. Its proximity to key agricultural zones like Maner and Danapur ensures efficient sourcing of raw materials and faster processing.

What is “Retort Packaging” and why is it better?

Retort packaging is an advanced thermal sterilization process, similar to the technology used in space food. It enables products to remain fresh for up to 24 months at room temperature without the use of chemical preservatives. This makes the products export-ready and compliant with international food safety standards in markets such as the USA and UAE.

How does JJJKAS collaborate with JEEViKA?

JJJKAS acts as a Technical and Marketing Bridge for JEEViKA Self-Help Groups (SHGs). While SHGs handle raw material sourcing and primary sorting, JJJKAS provides advanced processing machinery, branding, and access to global markets. This collaboration ensures that rural women benefit from value-added pricing rather than just basic mandi rates.

Is JJJKAS registered with the Government?

Yes. JJJKAS is a registered society with a proven 12-year track record. The organization is currently in the process of obtaining registration as a POPI (Producer Organisation Promoting Institution) under NABARD and operates under a formal industrial lease from BIADA.

How do you ensure financial transparency?

JJJKAS maintains strict financial discipline and transparency. All accounts are audited annually by independent Chartered Accountants. The organization follows a “Glass-Box” policy for institutional partners such as NABARD and SIDBI, with consolidated audit reports for the last three years (2022–2025) available for official review.

Can I visit the Operational HQ?

Yes, absolutely. JJJKAS welcomes partners and stakeholders to visit its Operational Headquarters in Patna as well as the processing facility in Bihta. Visitors can experience the “Soldier-Certified” processes firsthand within a structured and professional environment.

The “Technical Bridge” Role

Bridging Operations with Industrial and Export Standards

Rony Banerjee serves as a critical interface between JJJKAS’s veteran-led operational structure and the civilian industrial standards required for a ₹15 crore scale project. While the core leadership manages command, execution, and supply chain systems, he ensures smooth alignment with regulatory, technical, and compliance frameworks essential for national and international approvals. His role strengthens Project SAMPADA by bridging operational vision with institutional requirements and global standards.

  • APEDA & Export Compliance: Supporting navigation of international food safety norms and documentation required for export readiness and global market access.
  • MoFPI & Ministry Coordination: Ensuring alignment of Project SAMPADA with relevant government schemes and regulatory frameworks, including PMFME guidelines.
  • Industrial Validation: Reviewing and validating advanced retort technology to ensure it meets globally accepted commercial and quality benchmarks for food processing.
